Prompt: Miles to go

Notes: Vampires and Nazis! Oh my! A beautifully brutal piece that shows how the living and the undead make the best of an not-quite-so-perfect situation.

Prompt: Trial

Notes: Short but sweet. I like the latest offering of Trek via film for the campy fun (i.e. Simon Pegg -- ginger Scotty *squee*) but was lukewarm on the whole AU track it went off on. This piece, however, helps this TOS fan reconcile to the new verse that is running tandem with the old.

Prompt: Generations
Link: http://musing-way.dreamwidth.org/199436.html
Notes: This piece dives more into the motivations of the main characters. There is a good balance between introspection and interaction between the characters, telling more of the story and building up the history of this world. It's lovely.

Prompt: Clio - #5 Debate

Notes: I feel like I was dumped into the middle of a world already formed, and would love to have seen a bit more detail shown, but after reading the author's explanations in the comments, I see that there is a fantastic world being built. As well as a future world built! Hopefully, there will be more details included in the next instalment of this story-line.

I am looking forward to reading more, because it is the kind of world that I love to visit in reading as it is different from the worlds that I usually build. *Grins*

Notes: I really have no clue about this fandom, but the author builds a detailed world that makes me want to read more. The details, for me, make this piece stand out and will lure me back for more reading.

Now that I'm back from spring break (and did absolutely zero reading) I thought that I'd go ahead and start linking writing comms in the sidebar.

If you know of a great prompt/fiction community and would like me to include it in the "Reading Places" box, just leave a comment.

Thank you!

A couple of my favourite Dean/Castiel fics by a single author.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] entangled_now.
Fandom: Supernatural.
Account: [livejournal.com profile] entangled_now.
Title: Slow Down Dance.
Summary: Dean is normally a huge fan of boobs.
Link: Here.
Notes: NC17 Dean/Castiel genderswap. Supremely hot and well-characterised.

Fandom: Supernatural.

Title: My Eyes Are An Ocean.
Summary: It's amazing what you decide you can get away with when you can't see a damn thing.
Link: Here.
Notes: Disability fic (blindness). It's NC17, but it's not all about the sex. And, not to spoil the kicker at the end, but it deals with blindness in a way that does not annoy me at all. The ending bowls me over every time.

Hello everyone! *waves*   I'm AzureHart, and I'll be reccing  a few of my favorites today.  Just two to start with.  Be warned I tend to lean rather heavily toward both slash and humor in my reading, so if that isn't your thing feel free to skip these, okay?

Title: A Tree Grows in Cardiff
Notes: R for language and innuendo, Humor, Jack/Ianto, gen.

From the story:  The thing one had to bear in mind about the Rift was that it didn't always toss out alien overlords bent on world domination or bemusing (if useful) pieces of resurrection technology. No, sometimes the Rift was much more confounding in its choice of gifts.

This one is great fun.  The banter between Ianto and Owen is especially good, and had me in absolute stitches!

Title: Brrt!
Notes: PG-15 for for language, Humor, Jack/Ianto, fluff.

From the story:  “Oh dear,” he said, not really knowing how to comfort a lost alien that smelled a bit like aging carpet. “Oh, poor thing. I’ll do my best to take care of you, I promise.”

This is a great look on what would happen if a harmless alien came trough the rift.  Great Ianto voice here as he cares for a lost alien child that has come through the rift.

Modelled after the community on LJ, this community is the place to recommend your favourite writers and their great work can be shared.

In a nutshell, each Friday, members are welcome to post a list of their favourite prompt-community responses, publicly shared drabbles, other creative endeavours centred around fiction writing, and just shout-out to their favourite authors. Read, share, and, hopefully, make new friends.

The Rules:
1. Post only on Friday. If it says Friday on your computer, that's good enough for us. *pets international Time Zones*

2. Aim for consistency. Please use the form below when posting to tell us why you are recommending this fiction to be read. And, also, for courtesy's sake if the link goes back to content that is mature in nature, please put a warning up for those who are reading at work or school.

3. Don't recommend your own posts. Shine the light on others who might not get any notice otherwise. Self-promote in your own account *grin*

4. Please join with your character or writer's account. No sock-puppet or community moderator accounts, please.

5. Have fun.
